Limestone Coast Reserve Shiraz
Viticulture
The fruit for this wine was sourced from vineyards in Padthaway, Wrattonbully and the legendary Coonawarra region in South Australia, which has become legendary for its wines made from vineyards grown on rich red soils overlying hard limestone rock. The 2004 vintage started with a good winter and adequate rainfall. Favorable weather conditions throughout the growing season allowed for one of the longest vintages in recent times. The vintage delivered outstanding quality across most regions, especially Shiraz from the Limestone Coast.
Vinification
After crushing the fruit was fermented for 7 days in small rotary and static fermenters. Special fruit parcels were then pressed to barrel to complete 22 months' fermentation in a combination of American and French oak barrels. The finished wine is then cellared in bottle for 36 months prior to release.
Winemaker's Notes
The 2004 Greg Norman Reserve Shiraz is a rich ruby red color and exhibits opulent aromas of ripe berry fruit, typical of great Padthaway Shiraz. Light spicy, cedary oak linger on the nose as an intense, rich palate displays blackberry, mocha, dark chocolate and sweet spice flavors. This wine has a long lingering finish and supple texture. The firm tannin structure, suggest the wine will continue to improve with age.

Ratings & Reviews
Wine Advocate (Feb. 28, 2009)
"The nose reveals notes of cedar, wood smoke, tobacco, blueberry, and boysenberry. Medium to full-bodied, the wine has a solid core of blue and black fruits leading to a compact finish..." - Jay Miller
